Are You Lying…………………. Everyday?

January 20, 2012 in MAGAZINE

Are you lying everyday?  Have you ever gotten up in the morning and done the following?  You hop out of the shower and wipe down the mirror and look at yourself?  What’s the first thing you do?  Maybe suck in your stomach?

Both men and women.  Some ladies look at their butts and say my butt is getting bigger.  Some guys comb out their hair to cover up their bald spot.  Whatever they do, it’s like making up an image of yourself that’s not really there.  So, if you can lie to yourself about that, what else could you lie to yourself about?

Here’s the thing:  Everybody and their mothers say “I want to be my own boss” or they hate their job or they want to make more money.  But only a select few ever take charge and make it happen.  If I had $17.95 for everyone that told me they hated their jobs and wanted to start their own business, I’ll have an extra one hundred twenty seven thousand dollars and fifty seven cents in my savings account. Half of course will go to Keril.  Tons of people send Keril and I messages saying they want to do this, they want to do that.  But when we analyzed their situation and present them with an option that could help them make that transition, like clockwork about 90% of them disappear never to be heard from again.  Very interesting.

We, as business owners, have the ability to handle this and weed through the tire kickers that talk a good talk, but take no action to make things happen.  It’s about being able to better qualify your prospects and potential clients.  Now, when people send us messages or tell us I hate my job, we say no you don’t.  If you did, you won’t still be there after five years.  You actually like what you are doing for a living.  Until you retire or until they fire you, you’re still going to be there.  I want to start my own shoes business.  No you don’t, because you would have started it a long time ago.  Let people sell you on why you should invest your time and your knowledge with them.  The goal is for you to weed out the slacker as fast as you can so you can get to the 10% of people who really do want to start their own businesses or want to quite their jobs and are willing to grind it out with you to make that happen.

My friend, who is one of the top realtors in the D.C. metropolitan area, would always say to me.  It’s important you qualify people in the least amount of time possible before you invest your time and resources in someone that’s not only lying to you about buying a home, but they are also lying to themselves.  So, here’s my point.  Your time is the most important resource in your business.  And so, self-liars — that’s what I call them — would do everything to infringe on that time.  You have to be able to weed them out as quickly as possible.  That’s all I got for you today.

So, for those people who aren’t lying to themselves about what they want to accomplish and what they want to get out of entrepreneurship, Keril and I created a special report just for you.  Click here to access it now.

This is Eric and I will talk to you guys soon.

Scared Money Don’t Make No Money

January 11, 2012 in MAGAZINE, Network Marketing Tips

Now when I talked about scared money, I don’t mean the money you have in your pocket when you’re a college student that needs to last for the entire semester.  Now that’s the money you should be scared to spend.  I still remember in college when I asked a really hot girl to hang out with me.  Because I didn’t have a car, I also asked my brother to come out and hang with us as well.  He was broke too, but he had our dad’s truck.  So he agreed under one condition, I was to give him gas money.  I said, sure thing.  I had about $35 in my pocket.

So he came to my dorm to pick me and my new hot lady friend up to head out to the bar.  Now, I had to pay for me and my lady friend to get in.  That’s $10 gone.  I bought two beers at 7 bucks a piece.  That’s $14 for a grand total of 24 bucks.  The night went on and she wanted another beer.  Okay.  It’s getting kind of tight now.  If she gets another beer, that means I have to get another one too “Only for impressing her purposes”.

Now, how am I going to make this work?  Not to mention, I have to give my brother gas money.  That was just one example.  But you get my point.  But that’s not what I’m talking about here.  I’m talking about you as an entrepreneur or a want to be entrepreneur, scared to invest in your business or your business idea.

Example one:

Say you spent 4K in a marketing campaign that generates you 10K in sales for that month.  That’s a pretty good month, right?  Of course it is.  So next month, what most business owners will say, I want to make another 10K this month, but I want to keep more of the profit.  So instead of investing 4,000, you invest 3,200 to make that extra $800 in your pocket.  Now that’s what I call scared money don’t make no money.  If you spend 4K to make 10K, why take that 10K and use 8K of that the following month on marketing to hopefully generate 20K.  Then take that 20K and take 12K out of it to generate another 30K the following month.  Look, business is like a contact sport that’s extremely competitive, but without the physical bruises, broken bones and concussions.  But it will break your bank account if you play scared.

Example two:

People that are scared to use their bar money to invest in themselves and complain about their circumstances.  I’ve hung out with folks who will spend tons of money in the clubs and bars and not take that same money to position and establish the business they always wanted to start.  Now that’s what I call scare money don’t make no money.  Okay — maybe not scare money.  Maybe I should start calling it stupid money.  I’m feeling a little vocal today, so I’m calling today – “Call it’s how you see it day.”

That’s all I have for you today. Now fellas, I know I’m not the only one that has those stories from college. I want to hear yours, so leave me your comments. Plus, I want to hear your thoughts on this whole scared money don’t make no money phenomenon. Now, let’s make sure we share the post, so once you read it, I want you to share it on Facebook and Twitter. Deal?

Alright, this is Eric and I’ll talk to ya’ll soon.

Peace out.

The #1 Small Business Tip Of All Time: Be A Problem Solver, Not An Expert

April 5, 2011 in Uncategorized

They are two types of solutions you can provide to the marketplace.  (Suggestions & Solutions) Suggestions are what experts create; solutions are what money makers create.  The biggest mistake most business owners make is to think that their customers care about them and their expertise.  If you’ve made this mistake before, you’re not alone.  But it’s time to change that if you want to build a long lasting sustainable business.    Your potential customers only care about their pains, irrational passions or urgencies. People pay real money for solutions, not suggestions.  Solutions are being searched for everyday and these solutions are offering relief and delivering results to lots of people.

If you’re in the weight loss niche, you should realize that  people don’t want to know what to eat to lose weight (That would be a suggestion).  People want to know what to eat when they are in McDonalds or Chipotle and still lose weight.  Your potential clients want a solution that will give them the  results without them sacrificing or giving up the foods they love to eat.  If you can solve this problem, you’ll become extremely wealthy in your weight loss business.

So are you an expert, or are you a problem solver?  I would love to hear from you, so leave me your comments and sign up for our “free report “ on 6 was to generate immediate sales for you business right below.

Can’t wait to see you at the pinnacle of your success.

Why The Leadership Of The Leaders You Look Up To Is Dead!

March 15, 2011 in MAGAZINE

“Great change needs great leadership and great leaders.”–Darren Hardy. Today was a very insightful morning for me. I spent 45 minutes reading the April 2011 issues of Success Magazine and it has absolutely inspired me to share some of the ideas I learned with you.

Charles Darwin said “It is not the strongest of the species that survives, or the most intelligent that survives, it is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” There are a few certainties in life, such as taxes, death, and change. Over the past decade, we all can agree that change has been so rapid and there’s no sign of that slowing down. It seems like technology changes every 30 seconds. With globalization, the competition for talent doesn’t just come from your local chamber of commerce or around the country; competition comes from every part of the world. Not to mention, the demographic has changed, you now have more young people, “what we call the 80’s babies” who are the next wave of leaders.
This generation has a completely different value system. That’s why the leadership of the past has to change in order to bring out the best in this generation. As business owners and entrepreneurs; we can’t use the same leadership skills used by the companies our parents ran or worked for. No longer will leadership be about developing structure, setting controllers and leveraging capital. Becoming an effective leader today will require commitment to continually developing your skills on an ongoing bases.

We’ll need to become experts in human capital, not just financial capital. We need to master emotional intelligences, not just economic competences. We need to learn how to collaborate, not just control. Lead through networks, not just hierarchies. Align people through meaning and purpose, not structure and spreadsheets. Leadership will rely more on emotional and relational aptitude rather than technical and financial expertise. Leaders that will be successful moving forward are the leaders that can build leaders in others. Leadership is no longer about getting other people to follow you, but by building leadership in everyone around you

Developing the mindset, the emotional intelligence, the self-awareness, the self-confidence, and self management will be the key to becoming an effective leader in this ever-changing age. It will take the development of skill sets like communication, time management, networking and team building. The goal of the new age leader is to inspire and enable everyone they surround themselves with to take ownership of success and be able to lead themselves in this constantly changing environment. Are you up for this challenge?

Special thanks to “Mr. Darren Hardy” for being such a tremendous new age leader. This issue of success can be found on newsstands near you. Now make sure you leave us your comments and sign up for your free report that will give you tips and ideas on how to build a thriving business in this new age.
