What are your dreams and aspirations? Do you have the resolve to fight through adversity to reach your ultimate goal? I truly hope so, because if you don’t, no one will fight through them for you. To drive this point home, I want to share a story that Mr. Darren Hardy shared with me at a convention this past weekend. I hope you take something away from it as I did.

The empire’s most powerful army received the news that a baby was stranded on top of the highest and coolest mountain in the land. Their orders where to head out immediately and rescue this baby. The commander put together a team of his most skilled commandos and generals and headed out.

Their journey was long and very challenging. They faced all kinds of dangers from polar bears to the elements, but these warriors kept fighting their way up the mountain until they got to the point where visibility was extremely poor. They couldn’t see their hands in front of their faces; the temperature was minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit and they were out of food and water. Going any further would mean certain death. After coming to this realization, they decided to turn back and head home. There was just no other way to get up that mountain.

While heading back down the mountain, one solider turned around and sees someone coming down the mountain behind them. They stopped to see who it was. It was a woman and in her hand was a baby. They were in shock because they could not figure out how she was able to get to the top of the mountain to get this baby. The lead general asked her, “How were you able to get up the mountain when we, the most powerful army in the land couldn’t?”

The woman responded, “It wasn’t your baby”. How powerful is that?
What’s my point here guys? It’s simple; only you, yourself can save your dreams. Only you have the power, the drive, and the resolve to make it through unimaginable circumstances to see your dreams come true. For those of you that have children, I know for a fact that you will do any and everything to protect them. I know that there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to protect my children. And this is the same mindset I have when it comes to my dreams. You have to develop the mindset of this lady in this story who couldn’t be stopped because her “why” and her “dreams” were too powerful for any person to understand. Take this on into 2011 and see what difference it makes for you.

Now, here’s your action step: I want each and every one of you that read this post to leave us your best tip on what you do to keep focused on your goals and dreams. I feel your tip could be the tip that makes a difference for someone who doesn’t know what to do or what it takes to persevere through the obstacles.
